Calm Corner Wall Art

Calm Corner Wall Art

A calm corner only works if a child can use it without an adult standing next to them. Our calm corner wall art is designed for exactly that — clear visuals that let a 6-year-old name a feeling, pick a regulation strategy, and try it before coming back to the group.

What goes in a good calm corner

Educators and child therapists generally agree that an effective calm corner needs three categories of visual support: a feelings chart (to name the state), a regulation menu (breathing, movement, self-soothe), and an exit ramp (how to rejoin the group). Our collection covers all three, with art that does not feel infantilizing to older students.

Who builds calm corners

  • K–5 teachers — classroom regulation stations aligned with SEL standards.
  • Middle-school counselors — advisory rooms and counselor offices where older students still need quiet support.
  • Child therapists — waiting rooms and play-therapy spaces.
  • Parents — home calm corners in playrooms, bedrooms, and quiet hallway nooks.

Print, paper, and sizes

All prints are produced on heavyweight 200 gsm matte paper with archival pigment inks and ship from our studio in Chandler, Arizona. Standard US frame sizes available: 8×10, 11×14, 16×20, 18×24, and 24×36. Frames are sold separately. Same-day order processing Monday–Friday; see our Shipping Policy for delivery windows.

Frequently asked questions

Are these posters a substitute for therapy?

No. LOLUIS prints in this collection are educational and decorative; they are not a clinical intervention or a substitute for professional mental-health diagnosis or treatment. They are designed to support work that you, your client, or your student is already doing with a qualified provider. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or visit 988lifeline.org.

Are these aligned with Conscious Discipline or other SEL frameworks?

Our visuals are framework-neutral and complement most SEL curricula (Conscious Discipline, Second Step, RULER, Responsive Classroom). They reference shared concepts (naming feelings, regulation strategies) without reproducing copyrighted material.

What sizes work for an elementary calm corner?

For a wall-mounted regulation menu visible from across a typical classroom, 11×14 or 16×20. For a small private nook, 8×10 in a 3 or 4-piece grid is approachable for younger students.

How long will the colors last?

Our archival pigment inks on 200 gsm matte paper are rated to remain vibrant for 100+ years under indoor lighting and out of direct sunlight. Frame behind UV-filtering glass for additional protection in rooms with strong natural light.

How do I hang prints without a frame?

Many customers use removable poster tape, washi tape, or 3M Command strips along the edges. Our 200 gsm paper is heavyweight enough to lay flat against most walls without curling.
