Trauma Wall Art

Trauma Wall Art

Trauma work asks the nervous system to risk something. Our trauma-informed wall art collection supports that risk — visuals for the window of tolerance, grounding techniques, and quiet reminders that “you are safe in this room” — designed for trauma therapists, survivor support spaces, and the home walls of people doing the slow rebuild.

Window of tolerance and what it teaches

Psychiatrist Dan Siegel popularized the "window of tolerance" model: a zone where the nervous system can integrate experience, bordered by hyper-arousal (anxiety, panic) above and hypo-arousal (numbness, dissociation) below. Trauma narrows the window. Visual reminders help clients notice where they are and choose a regulation move — widely used by therapists trained in EMDR, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

What is in this collection

  • Window of tolerance visuals — with hyper / window / hypo cues.
  • Grounding prompts — 5–4–3–2–1, orienting, body-based regulation.
  • Gentle reminders — "you are safe in this room," "what is happening now."
  • Self-compassion language for the long arc of healing.

Who uses these

  • Trauma-informed therapists (EMDR, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor, NARM).
  • Domestic violence and sexual-assault advocacy programs — client lobbies, intake spaces.
  • Veterans Affairs and military-family clinicians.
  • Survivors at home — bedside, bathroom, quiet-room visibility.

Frequently asked questions

Are these posters a substitute for therapy?

No. LOLUIS prints in this collection are educational and decorative; they are not a clinical intervention or a substitute for professional mental-health diagnosis or treatment. They are designed to support work that you, your client, or your student is already doing with a qualified provider. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or visit 988lifeline.org.

Are these safe for a survivor lobby or waiting area?

The collection avoids triggering imagery (no depictions of violence, restraint, or distress). Language is regulation-forward and survivor-centered. Many advocates and trauma therapists have used these in client-facing spaces.

What if I am a survivor of sexual violence and need support?

You can call the RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673), free and confidential, 24/7, or visit rainn.org.

How long will the colors last?

Our archival pigment inks on 200 gsm matte paper are rated to remain vibrant for 100+ years under indoor lighting and out of direct sunlight. Frame behind UV-filtering glass for additional protection in rooms with strong natural light.

How do I hang prints without a frame?

Many customers use removable poster tape, washi tape, or 3M Command strips along the edges. Our 200 gsm paper is heavyweight enough to lay flat against most walls without curling.
