Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills on the wall — clear, scannable, and ready for the moment a client, student, or family member needs them. Our DBT wall art collection takes the four DBT skill modules and turns them into prints designed for everyday visibility in therapy offices, school counseling rooms, and calm corners at home.
What is DBT, and why hang it on the wall?
DBT is a skills framework developed by psychologist Marsha Linehan in the late 1980s to support emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. The skills themselves are public, teachable, and benefit from being seen often. That's what posters are for: external memory aids that lower the cognitive cost of remembering a skill in the moment it's needed. A poster doesn't replace therapy — it shortens the distance between "I'm overwhelmed" and "I know what to try next."
Who uses LOLUIS DBT posters
- Licensed therapists & counselors — an anchor reference in 1:1 rooms so a client can point at the skill instead of searching for the word.
- School counselors & SEL teachers — middle-school and high-school calm corners, advisory rooms, and counseling offices.
- DBT skills group facilitators — module-by-module visual support during the 24-week DBT curriculum.
- Parents and caregivers — visible reminders in shared spaces, especially helpful for teens working on emotion regulation.
The four DBT skill modules covered
- Mindfulness — wise mind; observe, describe, participate.
- Distress Tolerance — TIPP, ACCEPTS, self-soothe, IMPROVE the moment.
- Emotion Regulation — opposite action, check the facts, PLEASE.
- Interpersonal Effectiveness — DEAR MAN, GIVE, FAST.

Frequently asked questions
Are DBT posters a substitute for therapy?
No. LOLUIS DBT posters are educational and decorative; they are not a clinical intervention or a substitute for professional mental-health diagnosis or treatment. They are designed to support work that you, your client, or your student is already doing with a qualified provider. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or visit 988lifeline.org.
Are these posters affiliated with Marsha Linehan or the Linehan Institute?
No. LOLUIS is not affiliated with Marsha Linehan, the Linehan Institute, or any DBT certifying body. Our prints reference public DBT skills concepts in original visual treatments designed by the LOLUIS art team and do not reproduce copyrighted material from third-party clinical workbooks.
What size should I order for a therapy office?
For a single-skill spotlight at eye level, 11×14 or 16×20 reads clearly across a typical 10–14 ft therapy room. For a wall of four to six skills above a couch or sofa, 8×10 in a grid pattern is a clean option. For a DBT skills group room with viewers seated further back, 24×36 gives ample readability.
Can I use these in a public school?
Yes. Most LOLUIS DBT prints are SEL-aligned and have been used in middle-school and high-school calm corners and counselor offices across the US. The artwork contains no copyrighted material from third-party clinical workbooks and is suitable for K–12 environments.
Do you offer bulk pricing for clinics or districts?
For orders of 10 or more prints, email [email protected] with your clinic or district name and the SKUs you're interested in. We respond within one business day.
How long will the colors last?
Our archival pigment inks on 200 gsm matte paper are rated to remain vibrant for 100+ years under indoor lighting and out of direct sunlight. Frame behind UV-filtering glass for additional protection in rooms with strong natural light.
How do I hang prints without a frame?
Many therapists and educators mount our prints with removable poster tape, washi tape, or 3M Command strips along the edges. Our 200 gsm paper is heavyweight enough to lay flat against most walls without curling.
